A Saturday ride, which is unusual for us, but we had a busy week with Jack and Holly staying, and with rain forecast tomorrow, took the chance to dash out once the morning rain had cleared. We left at 11ish.
What a difference in the volume of traffic today, compared with a mid week ride. Everywhere apart from the very narrow country lanes was busy with people driving to wherever they drive to on a Saturday.😒 We headed up Carters Hill, passing the dog rescue, and a right turn to pass Binfield Church, where I spotted this lovely tree.

Next we rode on Ryhurst Lane, Bottle Lane, and Westley Mill Road, before dropping down to pass Waltham Church. We turned left here, and finally a right turn into Butchers Lane, next to the cricket pitch at White Waltham. (had a fabulous lunch yesterday with Bob and Alison at The Beehive Pub here. Delicious!).

Bottle Lane looking to Littlewick Green. Great clouds today. |
Then across the A4, past Velolife. We decided to just keep going, and dropping into Wargrave and back via Loddon Drive. One bite of a snack bar at 1 o'clock, and home via Charvil.
27 miles with no tea stop! Whatever next?!
