One of those "will it or won't it rain?" kind of forecasts, but having faith in the Met Office I decided to go for it, based on no heavy rain until 1pm. Good decision, as it turned it really nice, with just the occasional threat from one or two drops of rain.
We were sorry that Lisa had to cancel, due to feeling a bit unwell, and Daphne cancelled but for a very good reason! Her daughter had twin girls in the wee small hours, and Daphne was with her. Amazing. She has sent me a photo of 2 little beauties called Rose and Ruby.
New to Breeze, Nicola joined me this morning at Woosehill, and we cycled to meet the others at FBC. Good to see Cathy back from her world tour, although the downside is that she has not managed her target of 4 ride for Breeze Through Winter. (good excuse though Cathy!)
route
We left via California using the Arborfield Greenway path, and up Bunces Shaw, Farley Hill were I took this photo.

We continued into Swallowfield, up The Street, and into Trowes Lane, before a right turn into Charlton Lane, and over into Barge Lane. By this time the sun was coming out, so a couple more photos in Barge Lane.

On to Wellington Farm Shop, where we opted to sit indoors today.

Wellington Farm Shop. Busy today. Please note, I shared a cake with Rachael! |

Nicola did not share her cake. |
We returned via Bull Lane, and Part Lane, where there was just one bit of flooding, but we whizzed through in the middle of the road, so it was fine. Back via the gentle uphill of Swallowfield Road, and then to avoid the Arborfield Cross roundabout, we cut through the housing estate and crossed through Linkway. Not convinced it was worth it, since a steep climb, and two road to cross., but worth a try.
Back on the Greenway, where Rachael peeled off at California Park, Sue near FBC and the rest of us up Nashgrove. Cathy left us at Evendons Lane, Nicola at top of Blagrove and Gill came with me to Woosehill on her route back to Woodley.
Well done ladies, especially Nicola on her first outing, where she discovered she was not as fit as she thought she was... but did well to keep up. Hope Gill made it home in the dry before the heavens opened pretty much on time at 1 o'clock.
