Out today with John, Carole and Susie starting at Kintbury. The light was not the best, and the autumn colours which were almost peaking in some places, were unfortunately not looking great with the gloomy skies. Nonetheless, quite warm and no wind, so all in all ideal for cycling.
First we headed out towards Inkpen, then over to Ham and Shalbourne. Inkpen was full of white vans today, so no photos of the pretty village.

Dull, dull, dull |

We missed the turn to our coffee stop, but stopped at this Post Office in Shalbourne.
Not the most picturesque! |

Leaving the coffee stop. A bit of a climb ahead. |
Last time I did this ride two years ago I got off at this climb, so pleased that today I did it, as did everyone else. It ramps up to nasty steep bit, just before crossing the A338.

Unfortunately Croften Museum ( and Cafe) now only open at weekends from end of September. We suspected this before we set off this morning, otherwise would have stopped here for some lunch. instead, we continued into Great Bedwin, turning left, then right at the Three Tuns Pub. Excellent food.

From here we cross the A4, climbing up to Littlecote for a few miles, then rejoining the A4 for a short stretch into Hungerford. Right at The Bear, then left into Park Street, to continue through Hungerford Park. The route continues straight back to Kintbury.
Full marks to John for completing the ride, whilst standing up peddling the majority of the ride.
