Remenham to Turville return - 15 miles

It was already 25 degrees when we set off this Sunday morning to park at Remenham Church and cycle up the Hambleden Valley. John had ideas to climb out of  Turville to Turville Heath, up Dolesden Lane. I have come down that lane a few times and its a fabulous long, fast downhill. But today, at 28 degrees by that time with no shade......  Not for me! We got half way up, then we turned back. Must try again on a cooler day.  We still managed 15 miles though and came back via the tow path, where a regetta was under way.

the cattle all fighting for space under the shade of the lone tree. A tiny piece of electric fencing
is keeping them off the path. Thankfully since the little bullock can be a bit agressive... I  know this!

Next bit of wildlife, as we went through Hambleden

Turville Windmill top right, with poppy fields below. Part way up, before we turned back

Very nice. In Hambleden

Also in Hambleden. Timeless

The Hollyhock just budding up and about to burst into flower.

Busy at the tea shop today. Trying to keep cool under a golf unbrella

Busy at the lock too.

making their way to the start line

And here they come

the forecast is to be hot all week, around 30 degrees. I will miss out on the Breeze ride this week as its just too flipping hot for cycling.
