FBC to Hartley Witney - Friday ride - 24 miles

Brrr. Another cold January morning, so I drove to FBC rather than riding as usual. Still got the builders in at home, and with no boiler atm, it was almost warmer going outside!

Our first Friday ride, organised by Carole, and possibly a new alternative to a Wednesday ride as a regular option.    Just 5 of us out today and Carole planned to up the pace, so we didn't hang about. Carole had looped two familiar rides together, so a little variation to our normal route to HW.

( I mapped out the route wrong between mile 1 and 2, which automated on gmap for suggested cyclist route, but a possible alternative route for future?)

Today's team. Liliana, Denise, Ida, me and Carole.

On the whole the roads were fine, but some nasty icy patches at times.  It was only me who took a tumble, as Ida and I slid at the same time along Ford Lane, where  a large section of ice covered the entire width of the road. A few bruises expected by tomorrow, but otherwise, no harm done.

Top right..... SUNSHINE!  As we approached Farley Hill, with mist still evident

Top of Farley Hill.

Park Lane, Swallowield with the ladies just disappearing out of sight. Got some catching up to do!

Tea stop at the Church at Hartley Witney
The sun had gone by this time , so not so photogenic on our return ride. We came back through Bramshill Plantation, and across the ford at Eversley.

Doggie just been bathing in the ford at Eversley

Thanks ladies for your company, especially to Carole.
