Cycling along The Rhine Valley - 34 km (16th July)

We were in Germany for a friend's birthday party and extended our visit for 4 days. We were staying about mid point along the Rhine, and on the Saturday 16th we took the little ferry at Loreley and crossed to St Goar,

The weather was warm, but with leaden grey skies, not the best for photography.

The Castle with the many vineyards so typical of this area

We stopped of in Bacarat where we spotted some old classic cars driving through the town including this one with the dog in the passenger seat.

Lunch stop

All very easy cycling along the riverside, with excellent cycle paths. We returned out bikes after 34km, enjoyed tea and cake in St Goar, then took the ferry back to Loreley to where our car was parked.

On the ferry which takes about 5 mins tops
