Wokingham, Hawthorn Hill to Waltham St Lawrence - 27.5 miles

A ride with a few friends who were free today so just the 4 of us.  I put together this ride combining parts of familiar routes, with a few new lanes added for good measure. Perfect weather today and the countryside looking lovely. It's Cow Parsley time!

We crossed Wokingham cutting through Cantley and out on the Binfield Road.

Today's ROUTE takes a  few seconds to open.

The team Ravinder, Liliana, Linda H and me.

Around the back lanes of Binfield

Then out to Howe Lane, and into Bottle Lane, and over to Bowyers Lane and up the hill.

Stopping at THE GREEN TRIANGLE! Bluebells still looking good

Warming up and time to peel off a layer

The view from Bowyers Lane
I was struggling to find a mid morning tea stop, but remembered a past ride when Kelly took us to Fernygrove Farm Shop, at Hawthorn Hill, which has  wonderful views!

A panorama of 8 photos. Out there somewhere are views to Cliveden.
A special guest met us for coffee. Susie, now recovering well from her nasty fall of several weeks ago, which resulted in 20 stitches. She borrowed my yellow jacket as there was a cooling north wind today. But note her non cycling shoes..... She is back in training and hopes to join us again soon. Great news Susie.

Next on towards the ford at Westley Mill

That lovely pink house in the back ground is gorgeous.
Next we rejoin Howe Lane, and head in the direction of White Waltham, but turn left towards Waltham St Lawrence.

There was a lane I had not been down before, Halls Lane, so we ventured down and round a loop passing The Church and the old Bell pub.

The rest patiently waiting for the photographer on Halls Lane
Then back via Sill Bridge Lane, West End Lane and crossing into Hinton Lane, Hurst. First right into Poplar Lane. Then some more new lanes. Tape Lane, Orchard Lane, Islandstone and Nelson, before finally rejoining the main road into Wokingham .

Approaching Wokingham

cutting through St Pauls Churchyard

Crossing as we leave St Pauls, and on the left the new station carpark underway, now 2 stories high
Other than a couple of hills, a relatively flat ride in glorious spring sunshine. Thanks to all for your company.
