Sonning Common to.... not very far!

We have had family staying and coming for meals since Christmas Eve (last 4 days), with one day off TODAY before it all starts again, for another week.   So, a chance to escape on our bikes, even though a light mist and drizzle and only 3 degrees.

We opted for ebikes and drove to Sonning Common , the plan to then head down towards Goring and up to The Blue Tin.  For the first 3.5 miles, all easy going, so need for power.

We stopped for a photo on Park Lane, approaching Exlade Street.

It was pretty damp and only 3 degrees.

Another half mile further, and the first little rise of the day, so opted for power. Nothing happened.😖

John had checked the battery power level last night, and it was fully charged. But I couldn't get the light to come on. Several attempts.  John suggested just riding directly to the Blue Tin, but there would be a couple of climbs involved and with the heavier bike, I couldn't be bothered.  So, since he was happy to keep riding, then ride home, I headed back to the van. 6.9 miles round trip.  Pathetic.

Was hoping to finish on a flourish for the year, to top up my miles. Managed 4,698 this year.
