WLCG joined Breeze to Wellington Farm Shop - 21 miles

4 of the group were otherwise engaged today. Gill in Copenhagen, Andrea in Cornwall, Louise in Eastbourne and Martina at Legoland. I know where I would rather be.... or NOT be! ๐Ÿ˜‚. So with just the 3 of us DEDICATED team members, I suggested we might join a Breeze Ride, led for the first time by Hazel, our new Champ. She only had 2 on her ride, so it was also a way to support her efforts. As it turned out, one rider had cancelled this morning and Hazel hadnt realised, so she especially appreciated our company.  She had billed the ride as FBC to Wellington Country Park. I have not been the Country park cafe for ages, so at least it was somewhere different.

We left FBC via the countrypark to join Nine Mile Ride, then  Nine Mile Ride extension cyclepaths to connect to Sheerlands Road, to head over Farley Hill.

Church Lane Farley Hill. A beautiful day.

Church Lane Farley Hill.

Dropping down Farley Hill, we rode on the Swallowfield Road, where we pulled over just after the double bends and bridge to allow some traffic to pass.
Pulling over on Swallowfield Road after the bridge,
and a nice splash of red from the poppies.

up Part Lane over to Bull Lane.

Hazel on Bull Lane Risley.

Hazel and Jeanette as we turn left now onto Barge Lane.

Then we turned into Wellington FARM SHOP.... so NOT the Country Park then! ๐Ÿ˜‚Hazel is not too familiar with this area having recently moved from Maidenhead and thought they were the same place.

Lack of will powe, as the snack bar was left in the bag today!
3 of us opted for the Cinnamon Bun thingy.

Selfiie. Hazel, Lynne, me, Jeanette and Denise.

Another "Small" cyclists joined us.

As I am writing this, Lynne shared this posting from WFS Facebook page!
After the recent hooha about whether they welcome cyclists or not nice
to see this posting.

View from the cafe today.

We backtracked under the Bull Lane bridge, then an immediate right turn to use the tracks leading to the Devil's Highway (which you enter next to the village hall car park.)  A little overgrown in places, but very doable, and I think we all managed to avoid nettle stings. Then along Ford Lane and into Wellhouse Lane to cut through Bramshill to Eversley Ford.

Emerging from Bramshill to cross Eversley Ford.

Hazel making sure her group are all with her approaching the ford.

2 dogs doing doggy paddling in the ford.

Finally back across Park Lane to Nine Mile Ride. Since we were all heading north, we rode together to the bottom of Blagrove Lane, where Denise and Hazel left us to head to Luckley area.

Home at 12.45! that was a quick ride compared to some of our more recent ones. But very enjoyable. Hope to see a few more of the team next week.
