Monday ride today with Daphne and Linda (although we thought Linda was still on holiday!). We both got that wrong. 😅 Daphne was busy setting up a "twins" party in Bracknell first thing, so we met up at Cantley at 10am. I needed to back in good time for flu & covid jabs at 2pm, so just a short local ride today. Having had Jack and Holly here for a few days, as so often happens I now have a cold and feeling knackered, so a shorter ride suited me anyway.
I did laugh when Daphne announced at the start that she had her "Velolife" route open on her Garmin. There are loads of ways to get there, and as it turned out most to the way was not "her" route, probably because her route would never start at Cantley.😂
We rode via the Hurst Lanes towards Shurlock Row, catching up on Linda and Daphne's holiday news. Linda's relaxing week staying with friends, and Daphne's not quite to relaxing week on a family holiday with 17 others in Snowdonia. (She's home for a rest).
We stopped for a drink on Smewins Road next to this burnt out car.

We crossed to Butchers Lane and this next photo was at the Bottle Lane section. Nice day, and around 17degrees.

We crossed the A4 and climbed through Warren Row to Velolife, where we sat outside next to the vine covered pergola. Quite busy inside today, with walkers presumably, since not many cycles on the racks. We were all being good, and no cakes were bought today.

Uphill a little further to Crazies Hill, where we dropped down Highfield Lane, then a left turn to eventually take Tag Lane to the A4. Then Castle End Road into Ruscombe, where we spotted the vineyards of Stanlake Winery, colours turning golden.
