Sherfield on Loddon - 36 miles

Sunday, and with an uncertain forecast, we went out with our ebikes for the first time in weeks. (in my case). We headed towards Arborfield on Edneys Hill, then down to Swallowfield. Gloom, gloom, gloom.

Swallowfield Road... Grey.

Through Swallowfield and to Cross Lane,  Beech Hill then into Wokefield Park. John not been all the way through before.

Wokefild Park

Now on Mortimer Lane, to Stratfield Mortimer, where these two cottage on our left at the junction. Then up the hill, and left into Pitfield Lane.

Stopping at the farm on Pitfield Lane. This other cyclist also stopped

checking the latest forecast! Shall we head home or detour for cake?

The Coffee Shop Sherfield on Loddon

We chatted to an elderly couple from Fleet, talking about bikes and coffee shops and they mentioned about the Andwell Brewery also doing coffee/cakes.  (just across the A30 near Newnam) Having checked.... it's open every day other than Sunday from 10am so another one for the spreadsheet! Looks like a nice setting on the Lyde River.

then shortest route back which is around Stratfield Saye. We stopped to take note of when the house would be open? August 13th-23rd. I checked online and you have to CALL then to book tickets! How antiquated😄.

Home in the dry, and now at 4pm its still not raining. Now for some holiday packing. Off to Lyme Regis in the morning. Woopeee!
