Pet Barn to Pyrton - 31 miles

We are so tired of cycling from the front door, that today we drove to the Pet Barn, and started our ride from Rotherfield Peppard. From tomorrow, schools will be back, and you can also meet with one other person without pretending that it is exercise. All my meetings with one other have been either cycling or walking, but for those let fit, it is great that they can drive to meet someone (outdoors) without breaking the law.

Route

E-bike Sunday, and today we repeated the route we did a few weeks ago, to include a visit to Pyrton Church, where we were hoping to see a lovely display of daffs in the churchyard. I had researched the church on my last (first) visit, and noticed that by mid March it could be looking good. So off we went.

Climbing to Wyfold then through Checkendon passed the equestrian centre, John requested a photo stop just short of Nuffield at this barn.

We continue climbing to Christmas Common, and its only about 1.5 degrees, but with the climb, we are warm enough. Then the big drop down Hill Road and a stop for a cuppa and cake at the Spire and Spoke at the bottom of the hill. Quite busy this morning. Such a shame that having spent money on their Teepee they have been unable to use it since Christmas. But hopefully by mid April.

We also got chatting to a couple from Woodcote, and exchanged notes on various rides we both know well. I told them that we were planning to visit Pyrton Church and they rerouted their plans to also come for a look. The lady, Alison, asked how she could find my blog? I told her to look for "Letsgetscycling" but also took her email address, which I stupidly deleted by the time I got home. Alison, if you have managed to find me, my apologies!

Riding through Pyrton, we join a road called Knightsbridge Lane, which has lovely views to both sides as we start to rise towards the end.

views on Knightsbridge Lane. We are heading to the treeline now.

Left at the crossroads, and the next section has amazing open views, which over the next few weeks will look brilliant as the crops start to grow. (too cold to keep stopping today).

Then a short section on the B480 into Brightwell Baldwin and to Eweleme. All familiar now as we return via Nuffield Hill, and through Stoke Row to Rotherfield Peppard.
