I was due to ride with Daphne today, but the forecast was rather wet. We had agreed that we would be flexible about our start time, but by 11ish Daphne decided to cancel. At that point it was fairly miserable, so I wasn't surprised.
Instead, I spent the morning watching tutorials for my Sony Vegas editing software. I need a project! But it's really hard when I can't see anyone!! My film club has a 4 min competition coming up in 2 weeks time. I normally try to support the competitions, so need some inspiration. I had hoped that learning some special effects might help. So far, writer's block. Something will no doubt spring to mind at 3am.
At about 12.30 the rain eased off.... a bit. Having been at home all day yesterday, John and I were prepared to go out. We set off about 1.30 for a ride out to Crazies Hill. Since it was more about getting out the house than exercise, we took our e-bikes which also meant a quick dash home, if it rained heavily. It was 9 degrees today, so not cold in the slightest.
A simple route via Hurst, Hare Hatch and Crazies Hill and returned via Warren Row and White Waltham to Shurlock Row.
The horsebox takeaway at The Horns pub has changed it hours recently, so it was still open at 2.30ish but we couldn't justify stopping since we had not long had lunch (And John had baked a lovely Pecan cake yesterday anyway.😋)

Waiting for the photographer. A gloomy day |
Crossing at Knowl Hill and raining again now, so head down. |
Through a hedge near Shurlock row this colour really stood out. |
We got home at 3.30ish, just as it was starting to get dark, and with mud and puddles, everything got filthy. Showered, washing machine on, and a nice slice of Pecan cake. Another uneventful day, but really appreciated getting out for a couple of hours.
