Wokingham to Exlade Street - 32 miles

Sunday morning, and a noticeable number of additional cyclists from the word go, even leaving Woosehill to Simons Lane. Even up Sandford Lane, Woodley, there were several groups either struggling uphill or whizzing downhill. But once through Charvil it got a lot quieter. Our trip today was to Exlade Street. I had the GoPro on again today on its new handlebar holder, which can turn 360 so a chance for different angles without even stopping, which is brill.

We stopped for a few photos too of course.

Our route was over Sonning Bridge (again!), and up to Dunsden Green, where we took the left turn and continued to Sonning Common, and Peppard Common, turning left at The Pet Barn junction and then left again into Wyfold lane. Then right into Wyfold Road.

GOPro screen grab. The beech woods looking fabulous this week

Bluebells in Wyfold Road.

Several joggers, walkers and cyclist went passed  along Wyfold Road, whereas normally
this lane is practically empty. We also saw a large herd of deer galloping, just beyond the trees here.
Three horse riders then also came passed us. we would see them again later.

Wyfold Road.
We took the next left into Emmens Lane, towards Checkendon, where there is always
a reliably good patch of well managed bluebell woods.

On to Exlade Street, where we called in for a chat and a cuppa with friends Geoff and Debi. Geoff had chalked out a 2mtre distance line on his garden bench, so we were all safe! It was a hot by this time so a lovely place to relax for a break. Our return trip was up the Quiet Lane in Exlade Street. (had only ever come the opposite direction before), and soon we were amongst more pretty Beech lined lanes, which brought us back to the X road at Wyfold Lane/Road. (the same horses we saw before also arrived at the junction).

Another part of Wyfold Lane

Wyfold Road, heading towards Kidmore End. So green!
The remainder of our journey was the same as the outward route, since it was the most direct route back and 32 miles seemed like enough!
