I assisted Susie this morning on a loop starting officially in Crowthorne, but Andrea and I rode from Woosehill extending the ride. (Others road from Bracknell too)
route
A misty start so, as I often do, couldn't resist a photo near Ludgrove School.
Then through Ravenswood to Crowthorne to join the group. We left out the back of Wellington College, then into Pinewood Road and wiggled around passing the back of Broadmoor. (guess that's the unnamed "pink " area on my map. As we turned from Lower Broadmoor Road into South Road, I spotted a beautiful copse of trees, in the mist, but no time to stop. (note - must go back and try to photograph these!). Rachael talked about a clump of trees on the way to Dorset, called the "Nearly There Trees" . I was intrigued so look them up. Beautiful!.
The Nearly There Trees
Onward then through Owlsmoor, across Shepherds Meadow, crossing the Blackwater River and the railway line and over to Derby Green. Then over the back of Yateley finally arriving next to the pub at Eversley. That can only mean one thing.... Dell Road is looming. But before Dell road, the pretty Cricket Hill Lane where I got ahead to take some action shots

Then we voted on whether to stop at Cali Park, go to The Chocolate Cafe or Heathlands Garden Centre. Heathlands got the vote, so we cut through California Park, Nashgrove Lane and Evendons Lane, then for the second time today, passed Ludgrove School. After coffee, a few split off, and Andrea and I returned for the THIRD time today, passed Ludgrove. This time, I stopped to photograph the 4 Herons who had gathered at a small pond. So unusual to see more than one. The name for a group of Herons is called a Siege. (not a lot of people know that).
Lovely to be out in the sunshine, and clocked up just over 27 miles. Tomorrow the Chilterns, in the gloom.
