Wokingham to Waltham St Lawrence 23 miles

I assisted Cathy on a gorgeous blue sky day, starting at Cantley and making our way to Waltham St Lawrence, then a tea stop at Dinton on our way back.

Garmin Route

We started at Cantley, almost missing Karina and Becky who got held up, but managed to catch up just in time. Then we met Clare at Dinton, before our trip across the Hurst Lanes, which included a different lane from normal, otherwise known as a mystery tour. No problem. A short stretch on main road into Hurst, then into Hinton Road, and we were back on track.

Full steam ahead with our first stop just on West End Lane.

West End Lane. Our route straight ahead. A hazy, but beautiful day, with just a gentle breeze

Now on to Waltham St Lawrence

Told Kathy to smile.... Then she got carried away.

We then turned towards Ruscombe, just before the A4, and spotted this rather unusual crop!

Now over Milley Bridge, then past the vineyard in Twyford, heading back to Hurst. At this point, I noticed that Barbara's bike stand, was very loose to the point, I was worried that it could get tangled in her back wheel, so pulled her over, and we walked a short section, then used the footpath until we caught up with group.

Team effort to try to remove the troublesome
Bike stand. Meanwhile...

... the rest of the riders were obviously getting bored waiting.
Finally back through Hurst Lanes to Dinton, where a strange face was waiting in the tea shop.

I took Karina part way home, so that she would know the best way to cycle to Wokingham  in future, and leave the car at home, leaving Becky to drive back on her own.  Clocked up 26 miles. Good to see you all ladies, building up those miles. See you soon.
