Since it's Easter school holidays, it was just myself and Jeanette free to ride today. Jeanette drove us to Watersplash Lane to our starting point.
Route
We enjoyed a very quiet ride through Windsor Great Park. There was almost no one else there!
In the Great Park. A freshly ploughed field |
Once through the park, we followed the cycle path into Windsor. Castle just visible here on the skyline |
now following the Thames in Windsor, heading to cross at Eton Bridge |
Once over Eton bridge, we continued into Eton and joined the Jubilee River path for a few miles, before joining back over towards Dorney.
looking back to one of Eton Colleges buildings |
Crossing Dorney Common, where the cattle are free to graze |
pulling in alongside Dorney Court. The lawn unfortunately cut with the grass trimming left to die on the top, so not
looking very lush. |
Euphorbia Wulfenii at Dorney Garden Centre tea shop gardens |
Delighted that after Wednesday's ride to Sonning, where the Earl Grey was 90p extra.... today's tea was just 5 pence extra.
Following the Thames again back towards Windsor. The pretty church always looks nice.
Chapel of St Mary Magdalene. |
Finally, retraced our route back up into the Great Park, which strangely enough is always uphill from the Thames!
