Cantley to Sonning via Charvil - 21 miles

I was in two minds about going out today since I have been suffering with a cold, but felt the need to get out. So I coughed the whole 21 miles, and came home feeling knackered. But it probably did me some good. Thanks to Chris for leading and Jill for assisting.

It was cold this morning and most of us didnt really warm up until almost the half way point. However it is 31st October, so not entirely unexpected. Brrr.

The Route

We met at Cantley and took the new road across what was "fields" until recently, which brought us to the Old Forest Road. We made our way to Dinton Pastures, and then out the other side onto Sandford Lane. Then lanes in to Charvil, crossed the A4, then into Sonning. We cut down Peason Road, and walked through the churchyard.

Cutting through the churchyard to The Thames at Sonning

On the tow path. Lovely reflections today

The ladies ahead. We passed a large  walking ground going the opposite way. These
are the last two.
From the Thames tow path, we cut through Thames Valley Business Park,  emerging onto the edge of the A4 for a short stretch which climbed, and last we warmed up!  From here we cut through the back of Woodley, heading for the Oakwood Centre and Brown Bag coffee shop.

We opted to sit out, since although cold, was nice in the sunshine
