Brrrrr. A real hard frost as we started our ride at Henley this morning. The average temperature for our ride was -0.3. Had to watch out for black ice at times, but otherwise good to be out enjoying a tranquil ride with NO Grandchilden! Just a few hours before the next lot arrive!
The route from Johns Garmin
An easy start leaving Henley towards Stonor, then along the Valley and UP towards Turville Heath. That warmed me up!

Frosty bridge at Marsh Lock |
Even with silk liners and winter gloves, I lost the feeling in my fingers. After the first 4 miles, they finally recovered.

Heading down to Fingest from Turnville Heath |

LONG winter shadows from the trees as along the Hambleden Valley |

Frosty ferns with the windmill at Turville in the far distance |

The hard frost persisted in the shady areas |

After all the Christmas eating, and stuck indoors, it was good to be out in the fresh air again.
