Wargrave to Turville - 24.5 miles

I led a small group today for a Chiltern's ride, and feeling quite smug that I did not get lost once, AND did not consult my notes either!

The Route (takes a few seconds to open)

We parked above Wargrave, and headed for Crazies Hill then down the lovely long hill to Aston. Unfortunately another grey day, and a lot of the autumn leaves now down after a windy weekend.

Crossing from The Flower Pot at Aston down to The Thames

Crossing at Hambleden Lock, and a bit of brightness, but it did not last.

Very scary gulls
Then through Hambleden Village and the dreaded climb up Dudley Lane passed The Brewery. We all walked at some stage of this hill. Its a killer!

Ravinder still smiling

Susie and Liliana having a breather.
Once at "the top"  we climbed a bit more but more gradual, heading to Southend, then Northend, where finally we saw some autumn colour left.

Continuing from Northend, we enjoyed the long downhill into Turville.

Approaching Turville
Just after this point, my friend Debi appeared in her car! What a  small world. Amusingly she recognised some of my cycling buddies from past blogs.
One from Kelly. I am obviously going so fast it is not in focus.

Then on towards Fingest, through Skirtmett and back to Hambleden for tea.

Hambleden Church

Hambleden Post Office / Tea Stop
Retracing our steps most of the way back, the  big climb up from The Thames and we ALL made it without getting off. Well done team!

24.5 miles in total, and  a climb of over 1000 feet.
