Rotherfield Peppard to Goring - 25 miles and 900 feet climbs.

One of hubby's cycling buddies couldn't go today, so I was invited to join them as there was a spare seat in the van. Starting point Rotherfield Peppard. I had started from here before, however we set off on a different route right from the word go. So with  help to plot it out, here is the route.
route map

Sonning Common, Kidmore End, Trench Green, Goring Heath, Whitchurch Hill, Woodcote, Goring, South Stoke, Ipsden, Checkendon, Wyfold. Phew!

John amongst the turning Beech Trees

Willing those clouds to break up to let some light on the trees!

John and Ian. Looking to Ipsden, still cloudy

Autumnal ferns, with little glimpses of light finally starting to appear in the far distance

Passing an old barn as we detour from Ipsden to Goring

Corduroy fields

A quick visit to the river at Rossini's Restaurant at Goring, From here a path following the river at a higher
level to Goring and our tea stop.

A fab tea stop next to the bridge at Goring

the Weir at Goring through a gap in the trees

The climb out of Goring. Please note, they are coming towards me ie I was up the hill first.
(they will use some excuse that they stopped to look at something).

Blue sky at last, at the little aerodrome

"Why did the plane cross the road?"

Just about to start another big climb, this one about 300 feet.

Almost back, though the beech trees at Checkendon
