Breeze ride today led by Carole, with built in Bramble picking stop!
Not been out for 2 weeks, and full of cold, so not feeling particularly fit. Today's team were Carole, Sally, Chris, Ravinder, Jackie, Liliana and Kay. Sally has a new bike! Another Trek Niko. Good choice Sally!!
The route
Met up at FBC and realised I wasn't paying too much attention as we departed, as not quite sure where we joined an off road path, but somewhere running alongside the Barkham road. Eventually after quite a lengthy section, we joined Commonfield Lane, near the Garrison. We then headed to Arborfield, and up School Road. At the roundabout, followed the Swallowfield Road, passed Henry Streets Garden Centre, where our intention was to carry straight on all the way to the junction. However, road workers stopped us continuing and we had to climb up the fairly steep Castle Hill, up to Farley Hill.
Just before Swallowfield roundabout, we turned left in to Part Lane and were on the lookout for a suitable bramble stop....
Containers full, we carried on along Part Lane, into School Road and Ford Lane and just short of the Bramshill Road, went into the plantation, and across some off road tracks.
Nice ride, with some new off road bits, taking in a tea stop at California Country Park just before we finished. Thanks to Carole for leading, and for good company from the team.

Reaching the top of Castle Hill |
A quick deliberation as to where next, and took off to the right on a nice downhill to get back on to the route Carole had planned. |

Entering the Bramshill Plantation, which takes us through the Ford at Eversley. |
