Last time I did this route was mid March. With a slight variation to the route today, my miles from home increased from 29.5 to 31. The furthest I have ridden to date.
Today's riders. Carole, Kelly, Susie, Chris, Lisa, Maria, Ravinder, and two new ladies on road bikes Carla and Jenny.
I have not redrawn the map, as it is very similar to the last time. Here is the previous Route (takes a few seconds to open).
We set off at a fair pace today, and it was not until the 7.5 mile mark that I insisted we STOP for a photo next to the duck pond at Shurlock Row. By this time, most of us also peeled off to short sleeves.
We continued flat out, until I called STOP again at the open views before approaching Littlewick Green
Next stop was at Stubbings nursery, where we made our presence felt taking over with 10 bikes!
I dashed on ahead for a photo as we did the return trip through Littewick Green. Camera too slow to respond for these moving shots. Must take my DSLR out more often.
We did a slight detour on our return, up School Road, Hurst, regrouping at The Castle Inn.
A glorious sunny day. We picked a good day, as tomorrows forecast looks miserable. Well done to everyone who kept up the pace on this one of our longer rides.
