Wokingham to Eversley and Finchampstead - 23 miles

A Breeze ride today led by Stephanie. Left the house in drizzle, but fortunately it did not last. Just for a change, rather than cut through Nashgrove Lane, I cycled all the way to Crowthorne on the A321 but used the footpath. Our meeting point was Wellington Sports Centre.

Today's team. Stephanie, Susie, Sally and Linda

We left Crowthorne on the A321, then after just half a mile or so, turned off the main road into Ambarrow Lane. Too muddy this time of year to ride through the Blackwater Valley, so we stuck to country lanes skirting round the lakes instead.    Route map here

Vicarage Lane, meeting Vicarage Road and heading towards Eversley

Nice open views along Firgrove Road, Eversley

This lovely property at the junction of Up Green and Chequers Lane
There they go!

By far the steepist hill today, Dell Road Finchampstead. I did this last October, and had
to get off 3 times, but did it in one today (well apart from stopping for the next photo!)

This house along Dell Road which does "gardening on a slope"!

At the top of Dell Road, waiting for Sally and Stephanie

Crossing from Dell Road  into Wick Hill Lane, a thatched Wishing Well

Finchampstead Church

And me included at The Queen's Oak

Along White Horse Lane, but the white horse had his coat on.
We stopped for coffee and a chat at California Country Park. We then parted company at various points and I came back with Linda via Heathlands Road, arriving in to Wokingham at the Easthampstead Road end of town.

Crossing Woosehill, some signs of spring.
