Had planned to go out with a few of the Breeze Cyclists today, however it was cancelled since the risk of ice early morning was pretty likely on some of the country lanes. Instead, I waited until after lunch, then with hubby drove to Wargrave, and did the route to Hambleden, and returned the same route other than the last couple of miles.
Route map (takes a few seconds to load)
Poor light today so no photos until we had free wheeled down Aston Lane and past the pub at Aston. Here cycling across towards the lock at Hambleden.

Unusual to see the weir dry. The gates controlling the flow to allow for maintenance |

Would have been nice if the light had been shining on the yellow Willow stems! |

The sun came out for about 5 seconds at Hambleden church |

spring buds in the Churchyard |

And some lovely bark on the ancient Yew Trees |
|
The village always timeless |

Turning left from the Village centre, towards Frieth |
We doubled back after following the road from Hambleden for about another mile, and retraced our steps climbing back up the long slog up Aston Lane. After weeks of chest infections, not fit, but almost made it with just one stop of about 30 seconds. Next time!!

Just a mile or so to go, and a nice glow in the sky. |
