Binfield on a misty morning - 10 miles

Still not feeling great, with a long persistent cold and cough,  but perhaps turned a corner, so yesterday I thought I could manage a shorter ride.   It was a cold bright morning, and I chose to do a circuit of just 10 miles from Wokingham to Binfield, stopping for photographs in the gorgeous morning light and mist. I was on my own, so wasn't holding anyone up. Just as well really. SO many opportunities along the way today.

Route Map (takes a few seconds to load)

Started out passing a field which I have been photographing over the seasons, on the Twyford Road, but opposite Cantley Park.

and opposite

A  misty field on the Forest Road

and behind me the sun lighting up the ferns. My new bike still looking shiny!

The Forest Road is a busy road, and I never feel comfortable stopping in a car as you hold up the traffic. On a bike of course you can stop anywhere.  I was fortunate to find a couple of massive concrete blocks (meant for keeping cars out from the farmers field opposite) and standing on top gave me just enough elevation to see over the hedge.

Further on, and I turned off onto the Binfield Road, which heads back into Wokingham at the Keephatch end of town. On this road, there are open fields, with no hedges, so easy for the photographer. Its also very quiet with hardly any traffic.

I  loved this lone tree with the shadows below it, and also love it in Black and White

There were some nice patterns in the fields too.......

And because the fields are higher than the road, a great opportunity for a more unusual angle

Back into Wokingham at Keephatch, where I stopped off for minute at one of the ponds, which were frozen.

 Signs of spring!

Good to be out again. Next ride planned for Saturday with the Breeze cycling ladies.
