Breeze Ride. Finchampstead to Luckley, Wokingham

The official ride today was 10 miles starting at Finchampstead Baptist Church (FBC). Kelly cycled across from Ascot, Gabby from Sandhurst, Carole and Sally from Crowthorne, Kirsty just a few hundred yards, and I cycled across from Wokingham. A new member of our group Karen also drove across from Basingstoke.

My ride from home and back, a total of 19 miles. The most I have done in years!!!

Fabulous weather for 1st October, and with little rain recently, it allowed us to do lots of off road tracks to places I had  never been before. Thanks to Carole our leader for the most scenic ride yet.

Riding through the Gorrick Plantation, Hatch Ride

Around the back of Ludgrove School area, where the royal Princes studied.

A stop off at Henry Lucas Hospital, the only Grade 1 listen building in Wokingham.
Recent research suggests that the architect may  have been  Sir Christopher Wren.

........ and Carole give a short history of the house (which I missed because I was busy
taking photographs!)

The beautiful house now a private residence since 2001

A final photo call at the edge of  the lake at California Country Park.......

Where we could smell the coffee!
Some weaker members of the group had lemon cake with their coffee. (mentioning no names)
You know how you are!

All 7 of us Carole, Kirsty, Karen, Kelly, Gabby, Sally and me.
