WLCG Cranbourne Loop - 28 miles

Lovely to have Jeanette join us today after a long  break. She rode her new e-bike today, still building up her fitness, but setting a good pace. Well done.  Andrea was with us too after not many rides over winter & early spring months, but she does lots of other fitness exercise, so is always cycle fit.   Gill was on a course today and Louise away on holiday. So we were 5.

A cooler start to the day. Some wore one layer, some two and some THREE!

Jeanette felt half a ride would be enough, so I suggested a ride where Martin could easily collect her, and we headed off to Tally Ho, Cranbourne. Route link

We rode via Molly Millars Lane to connect to Ludgrove School not knowing if we could get through, now that the new road has started being constructed.

Closed to everyone now not far past Ludgrove School

The diversion on a brand new road, which comes out near Holme Grange.

We wiggled through Montague Park, under the A329M using the cyclepaths, up to Binfield, where at least one layer came off. Downhill on Murrell Lane, and soon into Wicks Green, Binfield, where Jeanette and Andrea had pulled over. I thought the light was lovely, so I asked them to pose.

Jeanette now with her yellow jacket in her rucksack.  I loved the
orange and green colours they were now wearing. Nice one ladies.

To Ryehurst Lane, and a photo of the ponies near Bottle Lane end.  An unfortunate wooden barrier in front of them.

Up the lane behind Moss End Garden Centre, where Jeanette powered ahead πŸ˜‡. Feeling jealous now. Should have brought my ebike! πŸ˜‚  We had passed loads of drifts of Oxeye Daisies. Its their "time".  But I did stop to photograph them at Warfield Church.

The gate opposite the church was open. I had never looked in here before.

Our usual route to Maidens Green to turn into Crouch Lane to the Tally Ho Honesty Cafe, where the BBQ was being fired up for lunch time.  It was warm enough to sit outside in the sunshine now. Most of us opted for the Cake of the week deal, which was Velvet Cake. Very nice.

I asked the chef to take this photo to include the water feature, but
he failed to include the water spout. If you don't do it yourself...... πŸ˜‰
nice photo of the group though, all looking colourful.

This young rider appeared, looking at a youtube video on her phone.
"How to ride a horse."  She needs to watch the bit about putting a saddle on a horse before
you climb on. πŸ˜‚ It's a brown horse, so Gill would be able to advise.

Darling Martin came to collect Jeanette to give her a lift home, and then we set off on our return loop. A bit of off roads towards Hawthorne Hill and continuing to Westley Mill. All very dry, but hoping for rain this weekend which is badly needed.

Pendrys Lane to Westley Mill.

Westley Mill

Plenty of water still flowing.

Our final loop was to Howe Lane and up Billingbear Road over Carters Hill. I wish I had taken my jacket off, but not worth it now.

Nice to see everyone, and with half term next week, a few of us not free on Friday, so will see you in a couple of weeks.
