It's end of half term, and also Halloween. Everyone apart from Jeanette and I busy, with one thing or another, and also rain forecast. But this morning at 8.15, it wasn't raining, and at a least a couple of hours before rain now due. So, dragging Jeanette out of bed, I proposed a short ride. 😅
She came to mine when she was ready, and she suggested Sip and Spoke at Warren Row. Fine, since I've not been yet since Velolife ended the business there.
It was actually really mild today, 14 degrees, but overcast. We headed over the motorway at Dinton to Hurst Lanes, then as we approached the X Roads of Lines Avenue/Pound Lane, John and Dave appeared round the corner from the main road. A quick chat and we headed off in different directions. (they were going to Wargrave).
We continued to Shurlock Row, passed the pond, towards Waltham St Lawrence. (road called Shurlock Row)

Through WSL to cross the A4 at Tag Lane. I was roasting! Jeanette was on her ebike, and we were doing average 11.6mph. By the time we got to the top of Tag Lane, I stopped to take off my jacket! I was balancing my bike on some "Road closed " cones, and who should come towards me but John and Dave. 😂. Turns out the road was closed, and no way through, so they were heading back to detour to drop down Mumberrry Hill into Wargrave. We had thought of joining them, but decided to stick to our plan.

We got a tiny bit wet in the last couple of miles, but just light drizzle. Nice to be out. Thanks for coming out Jeanette, and hope to see a few more of you next time.
