Breeze Wargrave Loop - 20 miles

Breeze leaders are down to myself and Hazel atm, so I offered an additional Thursday ride today, but after a long, hilly ride yesterday, this one was just 20 miles on a loop to Wargrave.   Velolife on the Thames has finally reopened after a very difficult flooded winter. The idea was to be sitting out in glorious sunshine....... the reality was that today's forecast was for showers.  But hopefully later.   2 riders cancelled this morning, who were a bit under the weather and getting wet was the last thing they needed, but Kim and Louise had also joined the ride last night, so we were still a group of 6.

I met Kim, Louise, Jo, Diane and Clare at Cantley and we headed to Hurst, then up Broadhinton Road to Ruscombe, where we had a quick stop at Ruscombe Church.

Who can remember anything they read on the information board this morning?
(not this one. 😂)

Action.
THIS WAY!!!😖😖😖😂
Take 2. Perfect.
Next we headed through the Ruscombe Crop fields......

... and the second field. All nice and dry.

This is saucer-cam POV of Diane and Jo.

A coolish 15 degrees but ok to sit outside.
This is to prove that I shared a slice of cake.😉

We  left Velolife as the sky was looking darker. and used the cyclepaths alongside the A4 back to Charvil. We were now getting wet, so opted for the shortest route back, which was via Beggarshill Road to drop down Sandford Lane. It had dropped to 12degrees. Apparently summer starts on Saturday!

In Winnersh, Diane and Jo were happy to use the cyclepaths on Toutley Road back to Cantley, whilst the rest of us headed for Simons Lane to Woosehill, and home.

Nice to see everyone, especially those who can't make my Wednesday rides.
