Today's Breeze Ride took us to Loddon Brewery. Since it's too short a ride, for some ladies, to go straight there, we first peddled a few extra miles and elevation, to earn our Tea and cake.
Route
Storm Dudley is approaching today, and with wind gusts due to reach over 40mph by this afternoon, we were keen to get back by 1ish. We met with Gill up Sandford Lane, and rode on Beggarshill Road to cut through to Charvil.... but we soon faced a fallen tree, which must surely only have happened this morning.

Linda R and Angela are the last over |
We split into two groups as we crossed the A4,rode through Sonning, and met up again at the pub at Playhatch.
|
Regrouping after Sonning, and to climb through Playhatch to Dunsden. |
|
Off they go up the hill. Still a beautiful day. |
I gave the ladies the option of stopping for a breather at Dunsden Green, or carrying on all the way to Binfield Heath. The majority preferred to just keep going. This lot are getting too good at these hill climbs! Well done.

At Binfield Heath and Sue discards a layer. 14 degrees today! From here we turned left to Crowsley and Sonning Common. (more up hill) |
Through Sonning Common and we headed now to Kidmore End, where we turned left. At last it's flat, and soon a big downhill passing Reading Golf Club.... to climb back up to Emmer Green. We split up again into two groups for the short stretch of main road, and turned right on country lanes once more.

The second group, arriving at the crossroads in Emmer Green. |
|
Stormy looking skies as we regroup at Emmer Green. The Brewery is not far now. |
|
It's all changed at the Brewery since my last visit. |
|
I love their beer cake here. I did share this peice! |

All this area now enclosed and with patio heaters since I was last here. |

Best foot forward. Linda R, me, Gill, Daphne, Angela, Sue P, Linda C & Louise |

And the other best foot forward. 😁 |
All downhill now back to Sonning, and we once more split into two groups on the main road sections. Back via Woodley, where we left Gill, and we headed into Dinton Pastures for this bit of the ride. A bit messy, but not too bad.

Passing through Dinton Pastures on our circular route |
From Winnersh, we used the cycle path all the way along the A329 to cross at Emmbrook, where Sue left us to climb home ,and the remaining group went back to the start. It had JUST started raining, so I hope that everyone didn't get too wet on their short journey home from here.
Well done everyone. A few hills again today, but that meant some nice downhills too.
