I rode today with Linda, since we wanted to have a chance to chat 1-1. A recent fall out needed to be resolved. We will be fine and can move on and put it behind us. Sadly, I missed out on her BBQ last week, so was glad to hear it all went well and she and her guests enjoyed the evening.
She rode to my house and with no particular plan, we were heading in the general direction of Wargrave to H'artisan for a cuppa. To get a few more miles in, we headed first to Binfield, and rode for the first time in months on Bell Foundry Lane. A new roundabout, but still no connection to the rest of the new northern distribution road. Through to Monks Alley, then to Ryehurst Lane, and eventually joined Howe Lane. According to my Garmin, we then went down Church Lane into White Waltham even though I have no recollection of doing that😂.
Crossing Breadcroft Lane, we connected to Knowl Hill Bridle Circuit, where the crops were looking nice as usual. I have photographed them so many times, so today just a couple of shots of the wild flowers on the edges.
Then the climb to pass Velo Life, and after my 3 days of walking on the hills in Lyme Regis area, my legs are a bit weary today! But once at Crazies Hill, all easy now to drop down to Wargrave to H'artisan. The usual struggle to hang up our bikes, but Linda seems to have the knack of it now. A bit of a grey day, but in the sheltered garden, pleasantly warm to sit and chat.
We returned on Loddon Drive to Charvil then down Sandford Lane to Winnersh. Sandford Lane closed again today, which is handy for cyclists. The new roundabout now open at Winnersh in the past 48 hours, and we were able to use the cyclepath on the left hand side which has been closed for weeks.
Linda came back for a quick garden tour before heading back home. I clocked up 28.5 miles, and heard later that her Garmin died in Wargrave. Must have got disturbed when we stopped. Will see Linda again on Monday for a 25 mile ride I have organised starting in Lower Froyle.
