Mattingley to Andwell Brewery via Old Basing and home - 28 miles

John and Dave were starting in Mattingley today, so Linda and I got a lift, then we went our separate ways. We were all heading for drinks at Andwell Brewery (first visit), but would arrive at different times from different directions. I didn't want too long a ride since I am riding again tomorrow and Linda was happier with a shorter ride since it was 28 - 30 degrees!

A strange shape  Route today, since we started at Mattingley, but then rode home.

We rode to Rotherwick and though Tylney Hall, then took Newnam Lane all the way to Old Basing. A loop around the village, then over both the A30 and the M3 to arrive in Mapledurwell. I've only been through here once before, and probably on different roads. Pretty houses.

Linda waiting in the shade. We did this a lot today!

Still in Mapledurwell.

A little loop of Mapledurwell then at the end of Frog Lane, turned right onto Greywell Road.

Soon into Andwell Road, to cross back over the M3, and we arrived passing Andwell Mill house, and the brewery just  next door.

We were just about to leave when John and Dave pulled in.

Dashing across the A30 now, we ride the narrow lanes back to join Newnham Road, and this time climb UP to Newnham crossroads then UP to Tylney Hall. Through Rotherwick, passed Dipley Mill, Shoulder of Mutton and the dreaded Plough Lane. Since Part Lane is still closed, we rode all the way to the end of Bramshill Road, and back through Eversley.  UP to the Greyhound and UP to Church Lane. We were both a bit weary with the heat, and glad we had opted for around 25 miles and no more.

Thanks for joining me Linda. Always good to catch up. See you again soon.
