Wokingham to Welly Farm Shop - 20 miles

Linda B has been walking rather than riding for 5 weeks, giving her painful wrists a rest, so today was a gentle ride to test the water. Cathy joined us.  I rode my new bike, for only the second time. Hoping it won't get dirty!

I met Cathy enroute at the bottom of Blagrove and with Linda at FBC.

Route

We used Arborfield Greenway, then Cathy suggested we use the new pedestrian bridge taking us over the new Observer Way, to Swallowfield Road.  It is still missing a cycle path link at Baird Road, but Cathy had been before, so knew how to get us there.

Crossing the new Observer Way, Arborfield
Dropping down again. This side is a bridal path, so
not a proper paved road. Several large "deposits" already there. Who will
clean them up I wondered?

Now down Swallowfield Road, and eventually into Part Lane, where I stopped for this photo

Part Lane, Swallowfield. A grey day.

Current  Covid Tier 2 restrictions mean that we are not allowed into a cafe other than with someone we live with (or bubble with). Strange that no one else was outside, despite all the cars in the carpark. So it has to beg the question of how many people are obeying these rules? The cases of Covid in Wokingham are continuing to rise, despite the restrictions, with Emmbrook School closed now until January too. Something has to change!

only us outdoors today.

I  have been disappointed with the service here a couple of times now, so reluctant to return. Cathy and Linda went in to order, whilst I waited with the bikes. They were told that someone would come to take our order. (I ordered at the till last time.)  We waiting 20 mins, and finally our order was taken. By that time, we were freezing cold and infact had almost left. They really need to sort out the service here.

Views from the farm shop. Nice location, but service awful.

Just for fun, and to kill some time whilst waiting, I suggested a group shot. We all  have the same Assos trousers!
Name that Ass!😁

(Answer below)

We returned via School Lane and Bramshill (got my new bike dirty 😞), crossing Eversley Ford.

On this route today, I would normally be puffing, slightly, on Part Lane, Ford Lane and also Park Lane which are all very gradual inclines. Not today. Loving my new wheels. Blagrove Lane too was a doddle.

Good to see you both ladies, and hope that you have now warmed up, although Cathy's boiler is broken. The 3RD cycling friend to have their boiler break down in the last couple of weeks... hope its not catching!

Would like point out that the angle of my "ass" is more
side on, and therefore looks biggest.
