Wokingham to Stratfield Saye - 28 miles (Thursday 14th May)

A chilly morning and we headed via Finchampstead to Eversley ford.
route

and then to Mattingly. Crossing over we skirted passed Daneshill School then around the edges of Stratfield Saye estate on Great Dover Street. I don't remember passing the main gate before, we usually take a sightly longer route round, missing out this lane, so stopped to peak through the locked gates. It only ever opens about 3 times a year to the public, and have never been. Must look out for the next open day..... well you can dream!

We decided to ride to Wellington Farm shop just to see what was open if anything ie take away tea and cake? But it looked like just the farm shop with only 5 allowed inside at any one time. No Q, but we didnt go in. There was a lot of ground work going on. I wondered if they are planning a new cafe space with "self service" windows maybe, as a way of having more outdoor seating in future to meet with social distancing.  Time will tell. Its a really useful tea stop on our rides normally, so I do hope that they come up with some kind of cafe that will meet the new regulations which I expect we will be stuck with for a while.

We then continued down Bull Lane and found a log to sit on next the big square house, before returning via Sindlesham Road, and back through Bearwood.

Bull Lane, turning right at the end in to Barge Lane.
