Wokingham to Hambleden - 33 miles

We headed to Hambleden today via Winnersh, and bumped into Breeze cyclist Becky and her 2 sons, who had cycled up from Finchampstead.

route

A beautiful day, and John in shorts. We rode through Hurst, then Ruscombe where this crop field was a amazing orange colour with chopped down stems of last years growth.

Then across the A4 to Wargrave and passed The Horns Pub. Down into Aston Lane, where we stopped to watch several red kites overhead, and a buzzard too.

Over the Weir and as we turned towards Hambleden, this field on the right had a pond .
Not normally flooded, so not sure why, since there has been no recent rain.

A short distance further on and there loads of lambs enjoying the sunshine and also drinking from the little stream running across the field. (often dry here).

The usual traffic parked in Hambleden village, and the dustbin truck struggling to turn as a result, so not the most peaceful few moment sat on the bench with our snack!!

We returned passed Velolife at Warren Row, and over into Bottle Lane, where I could smell the rape crops before they came in to view. Pretty scent , but a disaster for hayfever.

I felt  a bit weary at 27 miles, so put the power on for the rest of the journey home, via the Straight Mile and Broadcommon Lane.
