Wokingham to White Waltham - 27 miles

Today the schools will close.... indefinitely.

This is the next government directive to avoid further spread of the Coronavirus. All exams have been scrapped.  It may be that the schools do not reopen until September, or even later. Martina and Lynne took the chance to get out on their last day without kids. Andrea joined us too. Jeanette not able to join us today. We of course kept a good distance apart at all times.

Practicing Social Distancing

route

We left via Winnersh and via the Hurst Lanes. Then through Hurst village and out towards Waltham St Lawrence. At the X roads, we doubled back towards Beenhams Heath.

Lovely day, although a brisk wind

Next to White Waltham, down to Bottle Lane, across Cycle Route 4. This is where Linda had a puncture last week, and I turned back, so wanted to complete this route. Martina and Lynne had not used part of the route before, so nice to show them a new route.

We then used Breadcroft Lane to bring us back to White Waltham, where we called in at the airport for a coffee.  We went straight the ladies, washed hands, used paper towels to get out of the doors, and spaced out at a table for a cuppa. Only a handful of others in the building, so all well spaced out. We would have preferred to sit outside and by next week they will do that  although the may not actually not now be allowed to open). 😢Sad times, but lives are at risk.

We returned by Westerley Mill, then Binfield. 27 miles in all. Well done ladies.   Hope we get out again soon, but gone are the coffee stops.
