Out with John and Ian yesterday on a new route and tea shop, that I plan to do with Breeze
route
Parked at Risley, and a familiar route over as far as Mortimer, then turned right. Some beautiful roads, hilly at times, but of course a downhill occasionally too.
Lovely bright start, with rain not due until 2pm, so we should be fine.

Turning at the War Memorial at Mortimer Common |

Amazing tree colours at their peak this week. |

Lovely light on the pretty church at Sulhamstead Abbots

next door to the church at Sulhamstead Abbots |

Now on the Sheffield Bottom where the land levelled out for a while as we pass the gravel pits.

John and Ian at Hosehill Lake |
Next, a not so pretty section, but needs must, getting through Theale to cross under the A4, before turning into some very quiet and pretty lanes through North Street, bringing us out opposite the entrance to Englefield Green.

Tea shop. |
After our tea stop, and quick look at the rest of the village. The sky turned rather black and before not too much longer the rain came early.
So a rather wet ride back, but some gorgeous colours in the trees as we road through Upton Nervet area

Around Upton Nervet |
Finally around the walls of Silchester, in the opposite direction from a familiar route I do and then a new route into Park Lane part of the Devils Highway. Then through West End Green and Stratfield Saye.
