Wokingham to Little Sandhurst 20 miles

Thanks to Jeanette who led the Woosehill Ladies group on a wiggle to Little Sandhurst today. (minus Lynne)

Route

With rain threatened by 11am, we set off at 9.15 on familiar roads over to Crowthorne, and out the back of the railway station. Not entirely ideal for my road bike... but I managed.

We emerged in Little Sandhurst, and back on to proper roads,  where we took a right turn and soon crossed the A321 Wokingham Road. We soon cut through the gate of the churchyard, cutting off the corner, the out into Lower Church Road. Familiar roads again alongside Horseshoe Lakes, then down Longwater Lane to Eversley Cross.

From here we rode along the main road for about a mile, then left at a school, (against the one way system), then straight across onto Bramshill Road. Next right into St Neots, brought us to Eversley Ford, where Jeanette walked her bike across.

When she got back on, a horrible scraping noise made her stop to check what was wrong, but we found nothing obvious. A phone call to Martin, and we left Jeanette there to be collected.

The 3 of us then went onto California Country Park for a cuppa, where the new roads etc are still under construction. The cafe has also had a facelift and is very nice.

There were several tables with workmen having the All Day Breakfast, but also, Carole, Jill and a Breeze ride! Two of the ladies had cycled with me just yesterday on my beginners ride, so it was great to see them out clocking up more miles today.

Almost home, and the heavy rain just started. Almost made it!.

Update from Jeanette. She took her bike to a shop who diagnosed Disk Brake Caliper problem. They got her sorted, but needs new disk brakes now.
