There were 3 of us out today, Martina, Andrea and me. Gorgeous weather.
Martina had not been on her bike all summer, and did really well. We averaged 11.2mph, which is a very respectable speed, since we were not in a rush. Well done ladies! I used my road bike today, since I have been getting rather used to my e-bike recently. I really enjoyed riding it again. I arranged the route and opted to go to Velo Life Cafe, not realising that Andrea has been there twice this past week. However........ we did the route backwards, so all the hills were great! Well apart from the ones which normally go downhill.
Still waiting for my Garmin to come back. Grrrrr.
So, at the pond at Shurlock Row (which was dry), we turned right and then left into Smewins Road, crossing over at the Cricket Ground in White Waltham into Butchers Lane/Bottle Lane. The pretty cottage, at the edge of Shottesbrooke Park was looking nice the dappled shade.
Glorious weather today! My arty farty offerings from today...

Crossing the A4 to Warren Row, the assent to Velolife was not as bad as I thought it might be. It seems a really long downhill coming the opposite way. Weird.

I hadn't noticed this little bike before inside the Cafe |

Pretty busy there today. We sat out in the sunshine. |
At the start of our return journey, we headed to Holly Cross, so first left then straight on into Highfield Road, eventually passing the barn conversion. Then Blakes Road, and right into Tag Lane. Crossing once more over the A4 at Hare Hatch into Milleys Lane. I have take this view before, on the left just before crossing the railing. Love the simplicity of the trees here, and the contrast of the colour of the ploughed fields.

Then as we road through Waltham St Lawrence, we took a double take!

A man skiing on his shed roof! |
then we spotted these two bee-keepers.
Followed by a crashed aircraft.
An uneventful few miles then, back via West End Lane, and we opted for the Straight Mile back to Wokingham crossing the M4 at Billingbear Golf Course. Back through Cantley where sign of autumn are definitely showing up on the ground at least.
