East Meon Hampshire - 750 meters climbing!

We drove and parked at a pretty village called East Meon, and cycled a lovely route taking in 27.5miles of undulations!  I would not have enjoyed this on my normal road bike, and was very grateful to have the magic power button on my e-bike, which was used fairly frequently today! On one short sharp hill in West Meon, even with the red full power on the back wheel slipped it was so steep. I heard John call out OMG several times. But we did it. Plenty of riding without battery assistance too of course, so a good workout, and a new Garmin Badge for climbing over 2000 feet.

Route

Lots of lovely views today, so stopped as and when to take a few snaps on my phone. Our first part of the ride was a sort of loop around East Meon area. We climbed immediately from the car park in the direction of Privett, before keeping left.

This was at the top of a rather steep climb! We came from way down there where the cows look tiny.
Top of another steep climb up Winchester Hill, then a fabulous downhill

Not lost, just checking!

Tea stop in 1/2 mile

Colourful tea stop at West Meon Village Post Office

Lots of other cyclists at the village tea stop
After tea stop, a quick tour around West Meon, where we climbed an unbeliveable steep hill called Lynch Lane. Eek. That was the toughest I have ever climbed and not got off!

Ride over, we stopped at an NGS open garden day at The Weir House, Old Alresford. Beautiful garden with several streams running through, and pretty good cake too.... for the second time today.
