Lynne and Martina from the Woosehill Ladies cycling group joined me today, and were a little tentative about signing up for 28 miles. But they did it and enjoyed it, especially since we justified the large slices of cake at our half way stop at Velo Life Cafe.
Garmin Route
It was a misty start, but then sunny as soon as we left Wokingham heading towards Hurst, and Shurlock Row. After the cold of the earlier part of the week, we each peeled off a layer as the temperature rose.

views from Pound Lane |
We then headed through Hurst Lanes to Shurlock Row and quick stop to see the snowdrops at the pond. Nice and bright and sunny by now.
We continued over to Waltham St Lawrence, where the light at the churchyard was too good to just cycle past!
Next across the A4 at Hare Hatch, and the gradual climb to Crazies Hill. By this time, a bank of cloud was coming in, and we were just on the edge of it.

Approaching Crazies Hill |
Onward to our tea stop at Velo Life which had no seats left when we arrived! Never seen it so busy, but a group left a few minutes later so we got the sofas.
Our return journey crossed the A4 once more at Warren Row, into Bottle Lane and over to White Waltham. Back via the pond at Shurlock Row into Hungerford Lane, and on to Hurst.

From Hurst, back through the lanes, emerging at Dinton Pastures, and home via the Reading Road.
A beautiful day to be out. Thanks for company ladies. Well done.
