Love it when the weather forecast is wrong.......When rain was forecast anyway!!
A new location of Lily Hill Park, Bracknell as our starting point today. Easy to get to early Saturday morning and free parking. Thanks to Carole for doing a recce ride earlier this week. The planned route for 15 miles, since most of us havent been out much recently, but we did extend it a bit longer. Cathy was thrilled about that!
the Route which may not be entirely accurate.. but close enough.
Just 6 of us today. Alison, Karen, Kay and Cathy and me. The numbers in W.G.Park are restricted, although we did see some large groups of men....... as usual ignoring the rules.
A steady climb towards Chavey down, then along the Forest road where we entered through a gate into Ascot racecourse, and under a tunnel beneath the course. I have never been to the races, so it was interesting to be up close to the hurdles.

Just inside the racecourse and a tunnel ahead takes you under the course |

Next out the course into New Mile Ride and Watersplash Lane, entering Windsor Great Park. We decided to add an extra 3 miles loop to our intended ride, since it was such a lovely day, and then on to the Post Office for tea.

Plenty of deer today, although quite far from the roadside |

Must have a word with Mam about the fact we cant cycle along The Long Walk! |
|
The Post Office in the Great Park open half days and not at all if its raining!

Majestic Oak Trees, still in their winter state
We returned much of the same route, with a slight variation, but to Lily hill Park
As we waiting to turn right out of Watersplash Lane I spotted the group reflections in the mirror next to this pretty thatch cottage.
Good to be out after all the recent horrible wet weather. Thanks again to Carole for getting us out.
