Windsor to Dorney - 24 miles

I always enjoy this ride starting in Windsor Great Park.

Chris, Susie and Jill our leaders today, and we varied our usual route a little once we arrived in Windsor town, following Cycle route 4 through Windsor and picking it up again through Dorney. We normally do a circuit around Dorney Lake then on to the Thames tow path, but restrictions are now in place for cyclists. So we did not see much water today, but it was a very good route with good pathways. I had taken my road bike, so much relieved that we had good surfaces!

Other riders were Sally, Julie, Rachael, Barbara, Linda B, Ida and me.

It started out a bit gloomy with grey skies.

Inside Windsor Great Park

The wild flower meadows were beautiful

not what you call "busy".

Breeze champs. A bit like buses.... 3 turn up all at once!

Thames with Eton Bridge in the distance. We cross this shortly

Windsor Castle behind us now, with leaden skies

Poppies as we arrive in Dorney

out of focus I know. they were moving in the breeze and my little camera couldnt cope.

Sambucus Black Lace in flower at the entrance to Dorney Court

Tea stop at Dorney Garden Centre

Skies more threatening as we leave our tea stop. Lets GO!

Cycle route 4 brought us to the back of this pretty church, which we had only ever seen previously from
the riverside view.

More pretty wild flower meadows along route 4

Back to Eton Bridge where we found Ida, who had NOT followed route 4! Look... BLUE sky.

Entering the Great Park once more, and joined by several pony trekkers, jostling for space through the gate

The Rhododendrons in the Great Park

Great Park Views.
A lovely ride, and it never did rain. Thanks as ever to the Breeze Champs.
