Risely to Bramley - 26.5 miles

Just 4 of us out today, so we had a little detour to Silchester, rather than just ride around it as we normally do. I was on my road bike, which had just had a service and WAS pristine when we started today, but not for long! Lots of messy lanes today, and everything in the washing after today's ride.

A few snowdrops along the way today and Ida and I were keen to stop occasionally for photos, especially as the sun eventually came out for the second part of our ride.

The Route  (minus the Silchester detour)

First stop just through Stratfield Mortimer and a grey day.....

Approaching Silchester and I was first up the hill on my road bike..... for once!

Inside Silchester. Ida had done an archaelogical dig here a few years ago.

As we approached Bramley station for our usual tea stop, the sky was brighter and pleasantly warm.

We  took a right turn at one point, then realised we had gone wrong, but spotted this pretty thatched cottage, which we would not otherwise have seen.

A little further, and some highland coos, with coats glowing the sunshine.

The Coo had to careful not to get his horns caught in the barriers. Sharing with the pony and the horse. Cute.

Outstanding in his field!

At last some light on the landscape

I have a snowdrop photography day planned for tomorrow, so hoping to do better with a decent camera.
