Missed out riding yesterday so took the chance to cycle today with John and Ian.
We started at Mill Lane (river level), so up to Harpsden and continued up hill to Greys Court.
The route from the Garmin
We continued taking a left turn, at the back of Greys Court., with gorgeous colour and light through the Beech Woods.
We shortly crossed over the A4130 and continue to Bix, taking it slowly down the steep and not very good surface of Rectory Lane. Part way down stopped for this next photo. This is our building plot.... if we ever win the lottery.
A right turn, then a left and up the Stonor Valley, passing Stonor entrane. These deciduous conifers below glowing in the sunshine.
So far, we climbed, then a big down, then a reasonably flat stretch so to get out of the Stonor Valley, a climb again into Balham's Lane up to Turville Heath. A left to wards Northend was next, then down the familiar very steep lane into Turville. The light was gorgeous here today and again the Beech tree leave both on the trees and on the ground put on a good show.
John was outvoted as once through Turville Ian a I opted to ride the Hambleden Valley rather than another climb first to Frieth. A stop at Hambleden Village store, then on our way again.
I briefly stopped to photograph the Old Barn at Hambleden, just about catching a bit of light through the building clouds.
And the view the other side had plenty drama in the skies too.
We returned by crossing Hambleden Weir and back into Henley, and along the riverside to Marsh Lock. Got a bit chilly towards the end, but otherwise a lovely day and good to be out.
