We did this ride in November, and today according to my bike it was 26.5 miles. GMap tells me 23.6, so maybe I missed out a loop somewhere. Today we were riding into a cold headwind for much of the earlier part of the ride and it was not pleasant!
The Route
We met at Riseley Village Hall, as arranged by our leader Stephanie. Kelly also became available, so our group was 13 in total.
Today's team. Stephanie, Kelly, Susie, Chris, Linda, Linda, Carol, Beverley, Judith, Liliana, Kay, Jackie and me.

Susie get a call from Liliana who is lost..... she is only 200 yards away so I went to find her! |
|
Liliana safely arrived. We took over the carpark for the morning , since the hall is closed on Wednesdays. |
Finally on our way, to be stopped by a massive lorry on Barge Lane. He gave us a wave when he saw the camera though.
It was particularly windy on the exposed area from Beech Hill to Mortimer and we split into 2 natural groups of those fitter ones, and those not so fit!

Stopping for a photo on Pitfield Lane, looking back to Mortimer Church |
|
Pitfield Lane. Here they come. |
|
And the next group |
|
Kay breaking away |
|
And the rest on their way |
|
Kelly bringing up the rear. |
Stopping on a normal day to take photos is hard enough to catch them up, but today I think it took me 1.5 miles to catch them up fighting the wind, as we regrouped at the edge of Silchester.
Some great clouds today....
And on to Bramley where we literally took all the seats in the Bakery.
Not far now..... but a puncture for Kay. ..... easily sorted by our expert Breeze champs Stephanie and Kelly.
Thanks for a lovely ride and good company as usual. It was a tough one today, or am just unfit?
See you next time.
