Wokingham to Frimley via Blackwater Valley - 30 miles

Cycle to Frimley! You must be joking!! And back again........but I have just done it, with a group of 6 other lovely ladies from our Breeze Group. An 18 mile official ride from Crowthorne where we all met, but 30 miles for me.

The route takes a few seconds to open.

Another glorious October day to be out enjoying the fresh air. I decided to carry my DSLR camera today, so thank you ladies for your patience whilst I faffed with photography along the way. I hope you enjoy the results.

I cut through past Ludgrove School enroute to Crowthorne where the morning light was gorgeous.

Cattle at Ludgrove

hello... that's close enough thank you!

We left out the back of Wellington College to join the Sandhurst Road, on the cycle path, enjoying the undulating hill, which proved to be a tough challenge on the way back.  Once in Sandhurst we went behind the  Memorial Park, and joined the cycle track. All off now road for several miles. Time for the suspension!

not far from Sandhurst, and enjoyed the open spaces next to the river.

One of several gates to get through enroute.

have fitted through at ground level!

At about the 10 mile point in the map, we all realised where we were...... Marks and Spencer's roundabout at Camberley.

Kay familiar with the route here

See, we do have a laugh along the way.

Heron blocking our way

soft light on the grasses this morning, at least on our way out.

Apparently!

Carrying on to Frimely, we then joined the Basingstoke Canal.

Crossing the bridge to our half way point, and tea stop.

A couple of artists were capturing the setting

Not  a bad location for our stop.

Arty farty autumnal leaves.
Carole photographing the foliage too.
This gentleman was oblivious to our presence. I could visualise in black and white, so here he is!

And now for our return journey.

My patient fellow riders, whilst I take one last photo.

It was going to be my last photo, then poor Carol right in front of me fell over, and had it not been for a large clump of Carex Grass, she would have been in! Busy rescuing her as she slipped towards the water, no chance to capture the action. Damn!

Carole reliving the moment

But thankfully, no harm  done other than some dirt.
Feeling fairly knackered, after 59 miles in the last 3 days. Thanks Carole for getting us out today. Really pretty ride.
