Windsor Park to Dorney Lake - 24 miles

Great that Breeze champ Kelly was able to organise today's ride. Not seen her for a while due to work commitments.   We did this ride before back in June, so was familiar with the route.
route

Today's team Kelly, Susie, Liliana and me.

We started at Bishopsgate entrance to the Great Park and a gorgeous sunny day. The pink houses in the park were looking lovely with the sunshine and shadows at 9.15 this morning.

Chestnuts ready to fall........ as Susie found out later!
Then loads of deer today in the park. Wishing I had taken my DSLR along!

The one of the left with bird on his back

More deer as we spot the first views of the castle. A very bright morning, with washed out sky.

And on downhill past the Castle ....

Turning left at Eton, a school master cycling between the buildings in his pin strip trousers.

Over the cattle grid and through Dorney common

Tea stop at Dorney Court. The bike sign always amuses me.
"Valet parking available on request"

Next a lap of Dorney Lake, Eton School Rowing club. Into the wind down one side, so in theory wind
behind us on the other side.

Kelly and Susie crossing the bridge
Then, we joined the path along the Thames, which was really easy going. We were moving a pace today, but occasionally stopped for a photo.
Oakley Court across the river

Bovey Lock
And finally approaching the castle from the riverside, before the climb back up to the Great Park.

Thanks Kelly, and others for good company on this gorgeous Autumn morning.
