Wokingham to Bramshill - 23 miles

New ride, in part today, as a recci for the South Wokingham section of the Wokingham Bikeathon, which a few of us have signed up for on Sunday 21st June. (It will be 35 miles - eek!) Carole cycled this route on her own a few days ago, and found it quite tough, but we all agreed that in company, and chatting it was fine. Wind still blowing...... the wrong direction!

The Route (takes a few seconds to load)

Met the ladies at FBC then retraced my route back up Nashgrove Lane, and Evendons Lane, but then turned into Doles Lane. A detour via the Lilacs estate, to avoid part of the  busy Barkham Road, but had to join it later from Bearwood Road on the downhill section towards Arborfield. Then the climb UP School Road , Arborfield, and over Arborfield Cross to the Swallowfield Road.

First photo just before we arrived at Swallowfield Village.(11 mile mark for me from home). Just look at those clouds Yvonne! Ideal.

Today's team Kay, Lottie, Susie, Lisa, Yvonne and Carole

Just before Swallowfield, turned into Part Lane. A beautiful lane.

Views from Part Lane

Ford Lane, traffic jam.
And one Carole took of me.

Stopping just before the busier Bramshill Road
My Map is wrong here at 14 miles as we went straight out to the junction, but an option is to ride within the plantation.

Eventually, back on familiar ground as we cross the Ford at Eversley Mill, Lottie leading the way.

followed by Lisa and Carole

Yvonne showing great concentration.

An then a treat as two riders take the horses through.....Susie and Kay watching.

Coffee at California Park, then headed once more up Nashgrove Lane and home. Thanks as always to Carole was leading and organising, and to everyone for great company.
